Here is the list of camp sites I have found and used along the route of The Games Way. If you offer camping along the route, please get in touch and I’ll add you to the list.
Weymouth & Portland
I recommend the Pebble Bank campsite, largely out of guilt because I grew up on the same road and one of our naughtier dogs ate the owner’s chidrens pet rabbit! Anyway it is a lovely setting with cracking views across to Portland and the Fleet is literally at the end of the road.

If you prefer a bit of glamping then there are beautiful bell tents available here: It is at Osmington, which is just outside of Weymouth and almost on The Games Way.
Eweleaze Farm, Osmington, Dorset, DT3 6ED
Durdle Door / Lulworth
Durdle Door Holiday Park is the obvious campsite here. Great facilities, friendly site, beautiful setting. You can eat in the bar or walk into Lulworth for more restaurants and pubs.

Corfe Castle / Wareham
Several options depending on how tired you are feeling. I suggest redcliffe Farm at Stoborough just outside of Wareham is the best location, with a lovely riverside walk into Wareham for dinner. There are capmsites nearer Corfe Castle but it will make for a longer walk the next day. Alternatively if you are feeling sprightly, push on into Birchwood in Wareham Forest and make the next day a little easier.
Redcliffe, Ridge, Wareham, Dorset BH20 5BE
Norden Farm, Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset BH20 5DS

The nearest camp site to the route is Lake Farm Campsite on Willett road or Charris camping and caravan park which is just outside Wimborne and only a few minutes off of the route. The banks of the Stour also look tempting for wild camping.
Lake Farm Camp site, Willett Road, Ashington, Wimborne, Dorset, England, BH21 3DH.
Charris Camping and Caravan Park, Candys Lane, Corfe Mullen, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 3EF.

I think there are 3 campistes more or less along The Games Way. The most convenient one is at Red Shoot, Linwood. It is a bit pricey …but then it is in a beautiful setting and has a spotless toilet/shower block and the showers are amazing. If it is full, or you fancy somewhere else then Ocknell is a good choice – friendly and claim to never turn down a backpacker who needs a pitch. A bit further on you can find Parsonage Farm, which I haven’t stayed at but looks good and offers fishing!

Until last weekend I thought Romsey was a tent-free zone but a taxi driver put me onto Three Trees, which is very close to the route. The website says it is an adult-only site, and it also says no under 12s – so if you are 13-18 its probably best to check!

Alas Winchester truly is a tent-free zone. The nearest campsite is a couple of miles away so you *could* get a taxi to Morn Hill campsite.

We stayed in a pod at a lovely glamping site called Two Hoots. Call to check on whether tents allowed. Alternatively the farmer who owns the fields just down from The Ship is friendly towards responsible campers.

Puttenham / Guildford
There is no camping in Guildford, but a few miles short, and right on the route (and next to a fine pub) is the amazing Puttenham Eco Camping Barn.

Sadly not! I mean there’s always Richmond Park, Hampton Court, Bushy Park, but I hear the owner can be a bit picky about guests 😉
Ditto. Unfortunately Tent City, which was a site in Hackney closed down a few years ago.
