Weekender

Back on track with walk 2012 this weekend due to a cancelled social engagement and a bit of luck. This time it’s towards the other end of the walk, starting at Putney and heading south to Guildford, probably stopping over around Weybridge.

I’ve previously sketched out the final run from Putney to Stratford. I think it’s a pretty decent route going from Putney bridge up Kings Road and across the Thames through Battersea Park.

Battersea Park

Then I kept on the brilliant South Bank until the Tate Modern where I crossed over the Thames again, past Tower Bridge and onto Limehouse.

You can never be totally sure what you'll see on the South Bank

From the marina I went up the Regent’s Canal to Victoria Park.

Crossing the park I arrived at the Greenway path through the Olympics construction site.

Victoria Park (in autumn not summer!)

This weekend sees the route snake away from London across some beautiful parks and down the River Wey into Surrey, just round the corner from the office where I work …and will leave the car so we can drive home afterwards :-)
