I am very impressed with the official medical jargonese for your back injury, though obviously the awesome term for the condition is p*ss poor compensation for the pain associated with the fracture …given your bravery in face of grave spinal damage, I fear it would be poor form for me to use the situation to my own advantage, i.e. as leverage or Reason Number One for us to acquire PET DONKEY.

Therefore I am in favour of chipping in for a van and I cannot wait to come walking with you!

Gorgeous pictures. I can’t believe I have never been to Bushy Park. It was the only Royal Park I didn’t manage to visit when I worked for Royal Parks for 3 months.

Mark – I need to send you some info on the last stage of the walk. The Greenway is closing from 18th May until 30th September, so you won’t be able to go along it. There’s all sorts of restrictions on canal paths too. Diamond Geezer has the great info on his blog with all the links to relevant websites. If you can email me, I can let you have my other comments.

Hi Colleen, well spotted on the East End in the map! Totally unintentional but it would make for an interesting house-swap experiment No tube, hardly any buses, and taxis as rare as hens teeth.

I think you are right about the planet being Venus. There are several in the sky at the moment but I imagine Venus is the brightest one.

I’ve never heard it described as a fingernail moon before. And wasn’t that really bright planet Venus?
